How you can help

1. Send an objection to the Planning Inspectorate:

This is the most important thing you can do and you must do it before 13th July 2009. Please write stating that you are objecting to the proposed Kirby Hill MSA and quote the Planning Appeal reference number, which is: APP/E2734/A/09/2102196/NWF.  Write your objections in your own words.  Click here for a list of the main reasons the local community opposes the proposed MSA.  You can write your objection online at the Planning Inspectorate website by clicking here. Alternatively, please write a letter and send 3 copies to:

Ms Sian Evans

The Planning Inspectorate

Room: 4/04 Kite
Temple Quay House

BRISTOL

2. Attend a Public Meeting:

Details of any public meetings held to discuss the proposed MSA will be posted here. Please make every effort to attend one of the information sessions. Later on, during the Public Inquiry, there will probably be an evening session locally where maximum turnout is needed to demonstrate the strength of community objection. We will give you plenty of notice of the date and venue for this.

3. Plan to attend the Public Inquiry:

If you've never been to a Public Inquiry, why not plan to attend all or part of this one? It's rather like going to watch a court case, only slightly less formal. The current timetable is for the Inquiry to sit from 20-Oct for 4 days and again from 03-Nov for 4 days. Local resident and Chairman of Kirby Hill RAMS, Mr. Gareth Owens, will be representing the local community throughout the Inquiry and he will be cross-examining the Developer's expert witnesses on your behalf. We expect that one whole day of the Inquiry will be given over to Kirby Hill RAMS witnesses presenting their evidence and being cross-examined by the Developer's barrister. This would be a good day to attend and show your support. We will post the date and venue here when we know it.
